The Doylestown 5k

Last week, the night before the Doylestown 5K, Chris (Travis's uncle) told Thomas, (age 12) the story about Chris and Tom (Travis's father) running in the Marine Corps Marathon and approaching the finish in Travis's traditional style of pushing himself to pass just one more person (usually a girl) before the finish line.

Thomas ran the 5K race the next day, and as he approached the finish, he found himself inspired to do the same. He picked out a girl ahead of him and ran at top speed to pass her before the finish line - not to be mean-spirited at all, just to do his best - improving his own personal time and moving one rank higher in the standings.

Today, Thomas did the Doylestown Kids Triathlon, and he did the same thing. After the race, he and the girl congratulated each other.

Seems Travis continues to inspire people to do their best.

Thomas is a friend of Travis's cousin, Christopher Manion
