To know more about Pfc. Jeremy Faulkner, a 101st Airborne Army paratrooper who made the ultimate sacrifice during a chaotic Afghanistan firefight on Mar. 29, 2011, all one has to do is read the words of a fellow soldier.
"He was a very special person in my life," one mourning soldier said. "He could make everyone laugh and smile, even in the worst situations."
Ten months after Pfc. Faulkner's tragic death, his legacy lives on. Speaking on Jan. 27 at Parkview High School in Lilburn, Ga. -- about 50 miles from Griffin, where Jeremy lived -- Travis Manion Foundation Executive Director Ryan Manion told a group of students about this brave warrior. The Gold Star sister then challenged them to perform community service to honor his memory.
