Our Programs

"The Foundation's Mission is to assist our nation's veterans and the families of Fallen Heroes.  We will continue the service to community and country exemplified by these Fallen Heroes and veterans.  In the spirit of the Fallen, we will foster strength of mind and body to create a generation of future leaders."

Honor the Fallen

We provide Challenge Grants to the entire military community -- survivors of fallen American heroes, active duty troops, veterans, and military family members. Grants are given for service projects, furthering education, physical challenges, and everything in-between. Grant recipients are challenged to keep the spirit of service and love of country alive for every fallen hero.

We also pair wounded and disabled veterans serving Mission Continues Fellowships with families of Fallen Heroes to help keep alive the spirit of service and love of country they exemplified in life.

Character Does Matter

This leadership program challenges young men and women to develop their character by seeking "If Not Me Then Who..." moments in their everyday life.  Speakers share relatable stories about character, leadership, and courage using examples from the lives of veterans, Fallen Heroes, and other American leaders.

9/11 Heroes Run

Each year on September 11th the Travis Manion Foundation brings local communities together for a 9/11 Heroes Run to remember, honor and support our men and women in the Armed Services, Police, Firefighter and First Responder communities who protect and serve our country every day.  With the help of Chevrolet and other great sponsors, we will host more than 35 races nationwide in 2011 year giving Americans the opportunity to run, volunteer, donate, cheer but most of all honor the fallen.

Continuing His Mission

Each summer, we sponsor and completely fund a Good Grief Seminar with TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) for Families of the Fallen. These seminars provide emotional support and healing while touching the lives of more than 150 families every year who have lost loved ones serving our country.

The Travis Manion Foundation has also provided more than $200,000 in scholarship money to foster strength of mind and body to create a generation of Future Leaders.  An annual scholarship is awarded at La Salle College High School and we have awarded additional scholarships to deserving high school students nationwide interested in pursing a career in government service.
